Hey Hunger Games fans! The third and final installment of your favourite franchise just got itself a director. Francis Lawrence who takes the helm for the second flick, Catching Fire, will step behind the camera once more for the final part, which in typical franchise fashion, has been split into two separate films. Damn them! Personally I didn't think there was enough juice in the last book to warrant a two-part film but no doubt they'll figure out a way to drag it out, wringing us of every last penny at the cinema. Anyhoo, we're quite pleased with this news; changing directors from movie to movie can often cause tonal confusion, where a consistent tone throughout the story is often more ideal.

As per Collider, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 will debut on the big screen on November 21, 2014, while Part 2 will follow on November 20, 2015.

Fans of Suzanne Collins' books and the first movie will be well aware by now of the love triangle - similar to Twilight - between Katniss, Gale and Peeta.
