The Farrelly Brothers seem to have put their proposed take on The Three Stooges on the backburner, and have instead turned their attentions to the comedy, Hall Pass.
Owen Wilson and (the very lovely) Jenna Fischer will play a husband and wife, who encounter problems when she gives him a free pass to have as many sexual encounters as he likes outside of their marriage with no repercussions. But things get complicated when she starts looking for guys also.
The Farrelly Brothers made three hilarious films in a row when they started out; Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, and There's Something About Mary. But they haven't really knocked one out of the park since then, which is why the star studded Three Stooges movie sounded like a great idea. The setup for comedy with Hall Pass is certainly there, and I think Fischer is a hugely engaging presence on screen, but I'm still not convinced this will be a return to former glories for the siblings.
