It's easily one of the most anticipated films of the year, and now it seems that it'll not only perform commercially, but critically as well.
Early reviews from US outlets made their way online last night and the word is resoundingly positive, with many critics praising the casting of Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise, the cinematography, Stranger Things alum Finn Wolfhard, and the blending of humour and horror. We'll have our own review up (hopefully) later this week and the film releases nationwide on September 8th, but in the meantime, here's what our colleagues in the US made of it.
I love the #ITMovie. It's everything I wanted. Scary as shit, Skarsgard nails Pennywise, and the Losers are perfection.

#ItMovie was spooktacular. Great cast, surprisingly funny, and genuinely unnerving scares. You'll still be freaked out when you get home. 🎈 pic.twitter.com/n5EQpbk53N

Thrilled I can now say that IT is spectacular. Totally terrifying, but also amazing fun (the Losers are PERFECT). Top 10 candidate for me. pic.twitter.com/XjQHyNmSEq

Happy to say #IT is an effectively scary & faithful adaptation of (half) @StephenKing's novel. Walked out very satisfied. @ITMovieOfficial

#ITMovie is a very handsome, polished execution of a story you know inside out. The big surprise is Finn Wolfhard. Really earns his spot.

IT made me cry (and not out of terror). It's funny, moving, and of course scary. The kids were EXCELLENT, esp Sophia Lillis. I loved IT. pic.twitter.com/LHb3Zi5zys
