Early reviews are often a tricky business to read.
Quite often, the reviews come from avid fans who - let's face it - aren't always the best judges of what makes a good film. Not only that, they're almost always way too enthusiastic to be taken seriously and there's a good deal of strategy that goes into who's selected for early press screenings.
With that in mind, we're approaching these reviews with cautious optimism. Obviously, if you want to go into Captain America: Civil War completely blind, turn around now.
The early word, from what we can tell, is...
..

..
..
...is that it's good. Very good.
The film was screened for US critics earlier this morning - we're not 100% sure when we'll know when our own press screening is - but the early word is all positive.
Many praised Black Panther's inclusion and Chadwick Boseman's performance as the King of Wakanda whilst others hailed Tom Holland's performance as Spider-Man. Some even went so far as to call Holland "the best Peter Parker / Spider-Man on screen so far", which is pretty high praise considering.
Here's a collection of the some tweet-reviews posted by US critics.

to stop fighting. It packs a serious emotional punch.

Everything that BVS did wrong, Civil War does right. Does so right.

Like we said, those are some pretty decent early reactions. Of course, time will tell how it all pans out. We'll have our own review of Captain America: Civil War pretty soon, but in the meantime, keep your calendar open for April 29th when it releases here in Ireland.
