Way back when, we never would have imagined that Clint Eastwood, the macho-est (is that a word?) of macho movie stars who came to fame in Dirty Harry and A Fistful of Dollars, among other bad-ass Westerns, would wind up directing film adaptations of Broadway musicals. Did you? Not very wild, wild west.
Turns out, the man can do just about anything, and can dabble in many genres, as he's shown by helming Million Dollar Baby, Letters from Iwo Jima, Invictus, Gran Torino and more. It's no surrpise really; he has won four Oscars. Next on his to do list is Jersey Boys, an adaptation of the hit Broadway musical based on the 1960s American showband, Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons.
The current task faced by Hollywood's hottest director is that of casting. Reported by Variety, the four men Eastwood is currently eyeing up include Boardwalk Empire's Vincent Piazza and Broadway actors Erich Bergen, John Lloyd Young and Michael Lomenda.
Nothing has been confirmed yet but while you may not be familiar with the names, you'll certainly be impressed by the movie when it hits theatres. How do we know this? Well, what you have to ask yourself is, do I feel lucky. Well do ya' punk?
We're going to go right ahead and assume that anything Eastwood puts his hand to turns to gold. I'm still drying my eyes from Gran Torino. Waaaah.
