So apparently Paul Giammati is in talks to play Rhino, a pretty bulky willian who likes to, well, ram into stuff, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Now forgive us for being ever so slightly startled, but this is kind of the last thing we'd expect from the Sideways star. Giammati's back catalogue doesn't exactly scream comic book villain but when The Hollywood Reporter is the one spreading the news, you'd pretty much better believe it.
Funny, isn't it, that only a few months ago Giamatti was gushing about the character. "I thought Rhino was the greatest thing when I was a little kid,” he told ShowbizSpy in March 2011. "It was a guy who was basically in this rhinoceros outfit, and I always thought, 'Why don't they have The Rhino in one of their movies?'. But maybe The Rhino wasn't that big of a deal for anybody but me. If they ever go with The Rhino, I would be ready and waiting." How convenient.
We're quite curious to hear what Felicity Jones is up to though. The Hysteria star also in talks to take on a role in the film and with characters like Liz Allan and Betty Brant being thrown about the place, it's all getting very exciting.
Of course she could do an Anne Hathaway on it and go all Black Cat. We've yet to see the feisty Felicia Hardy hit the big screen (Hathaway was actually in talks to play her in Sam Raimi's abandoned Spider-Man 4), so maybe Felicity's just the girl to do it.
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will be joined by Shailene Woodley's Mary Jane and Jamie Foxx's Electro in the upcoming sequel, which is due in cinemas in April 2014.
