Taken director Pierre Morel is to helm the thriller, Pursuit for Universal.  Morel is very much a hot property after Taken kicked all kinds of ass at the American box-office, becoming one of the surprise hits of the year so far. It was actually good fun as well, truth be told; so news that he's picked something of a passion project, and Universal have agreed to fund it, isn't really that much of a surprise. According to Variety, the film is based on the early career of war photographer Jason Howe, who fell in love with a woman while on assignment in Colombia, only to discover she was an assassin. Jesus, you couldn't make that up - okay, ya could, but it's still mad. Morel told Variety: "Aside from the d.p. and camerawork, I have been shooting still photography since I was a kid and have been fascinated by the reportage in war zones," Adding "If I'd been courageous enough, I might have done that myself. There is the sentimental side of a man in love, and a journalist trying not to become involved in the story he is covering." That's all well and good, but when are we going to see Liam Neeson kicking the shit out of people again?
