It's undoubtedly one of the best (and funniest) satires on the music industry, so it's little wonder that 'This is... Spinal Tap' has gone down as a modern classic.
Rob Reiner's 1984 mockumentary that followed the story of fictional rock band Spinal Tap was pioneering - and now, a sequel is officially going into production in the coming months.
Not only that, but Reiner, who is also directing the sequel, has lined up some huge names to make appearances.
He told Richard Herring on his RHLSTP podcast that none other than megastars Paul McCartney, Elton John and Garth Brooks have been lined up to make appearances, while Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer will return as the band members.
Reiner's own character, documentary-maker Marty DiBergi, will also return as he makes a second film about the band as they aim to redeem themselves.
He told Deadline in May 2022 that the plan was to make a sequel that comes out on the 40th anniversary of the sequel, but the film will only go into production in February - so that deadline has passed.
Still, it good news for those of us who like their amps turned to 11.
