Steven Spielberg is developing Jurassic Park creator Michael Crichton's last novel before his passing, Pirate Latitudes, as a film that he may direct. USA Today are reporting that the book is about a pirate called Hunter, who plots to steal some loot, whilst being all pirate-like, I would assume. When Dreamworks big-wig Stacey Snider was asked about similarities to that other Pirate franchise she said: "We would only pursue this if it was wonderful in its own way, and didn't interfere with their films." Yeah right, who you kidding love!? That couldn't be cashing in any more if it starred a group called Clarkson 5, with the youngest troubled member of the group, ironically the most talented. Anyhow, Spielberg and pirates could be fun; granted it wasn't in Hook, but still...
