In the much-anticipated trailer for the sequel to 2018's 'Into the Spider-Verse', we got a surprise announcement that this is 'part one' of two upcoming films.
In the colourful teaser, we see Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) meet Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) once again, who seemingly drops in from another dimension.
Additionally, Spider-man swings through portals into an extravagantly-animated city being chased by Oscar Isaac's Spiderman 2099. Isaac also appeared in the post-credits scene of the original film.
The description for the film reads that the sequel will, "transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered".
As well as the Spider-man announcment, Sony also previewed a full scene from its upcoming film 'Morbius'. The film stars Jared Leto as Dr Michael Morbius, a comic-book nemesis of Spider-man.
'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)' will hit cinemas on October 7th, 2022, with Part Two following sometime in 2023.
