Running from Thursday August 1st to Monday August 5th, the GAZE International LGBT Film Festival is taking place in The Lighthouse Cinema. With 2013 marking the 30th anniversary of the first ever Dublin Gay Pride March, as well as the 20th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Ireland, this year's GAZE has an even more celebratory feel to it than ever.

The line-up this year is an impressive list of home-grown and imported feature films, documentaries, events and short movies, with this year's programme kicking off with Animals, featuring The Hobbit and Sherlock star Martin Freeman, and early word comparing it to the likes of Donnie Darko and Elephant. In honour of Animals taking the coveted spot as the festival's opener, the folks behind GAZE made the incredibly cute short documentary The Bear Truth, which can be viewed here:

Other movies in the line-up contain major movie stars like James Franco in Interior Leather Bar, or deal with some very current and topical issues such as Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer. There are a whole host of Irish Short Films to be seen, as well as open panel discussions to be a part of and film art exhibitions to view.

There is something here for every film fan to enjoy, so be sure to check out www.gaze.ie for the full line-up and more information about times and prices.
