Steven Soderbergh is always a director who surprises with his choices of films. Well, this still would've been difficult to see coming, as the director has announced he'll shoot Cleopatra 3D, with Catherine Zeta Jones and Hugh Jackman being pursued to star. The film is reportedly a "rock and roll musical" that will be budgeted at about $30 million and financed outside of the usual Hollywood studio system - somewhat unsurprisingly. Soderbergh just wrapped The Informer with Matt Damon, has Che with Bencio Del Toro due for release; he will next shoot The Girlfriend Experience. This sounds absolutely mental, but Soderbergh has the ability to pull this kind of madness off.
