A teaser trailer has arrived for 'Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins.' The movie sees Henry Golding ('Crazy Rich Asians', 'A Simple Favour') step into the titular role, played by Ray Park in previous movies.
'Snake Eyes' is a spin-off of the 'G.I. Joe' film series directed by Robert Schwentke.
Aside from Golding, Andrew Koji, Haruka Abe, Samara Weaving, Úrsula Corberó, Peter Mensah, and Iko Uwais also star.
According to the official plot synopsis, our titular hero is "a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent."
It continues: "Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home.
"But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes' honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him."
In an interview with entertainment.ie, Henry Golding previously told us: "'Snake Eyes' is absolutely insane, a phenomenal conception of Robert Schwentke and everybody at Paramount.
"It is the origins story. We’re rebooting G.I. Joe as everybody knows it, starting fresh and giving it much more of a storyline and a character-based story to really kick things off.
"Giving it heart, I think, is what’s most important, especially with the character being so beloved and so mysterious, in many ways.
"He’s a character that was never able to express himself. So this is the first time where I think people will be drawn to Snake Eyes as a character rather than a weapon."

'Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins' hits cinemas this summer on July 23rd.
