Today in Adam Sandler news (apologies, it's a slow news day in tinsel town), we're hoping that all is not lost with his career as a comedy actor. First up, we've just seen the poster for Grown Ups 2 starring himself and long time friend Kevin James. Also reprising their roles for Grown Ups 2 will be Chris Rock and Dave Spade, as Sandler's childhood friends. Despite failing to wow critics - earning itself a meagre 9% rating on Rotten Tomatoes - the original Grown Ups from 2010 was actually Sandler's most successful film in terms of dollar bills. Will Grown Ups 2 serve to top that? We'll have to wait and see.

Elsewhere, we've heard that the Wedding Singer actor is set to reunite with Drew Barrymore once again on another romantic comedy. Again, the movies that this pair have collaborated on have failed to register on any long-standing 'best of' lists. But that doesn't mean they weren't enjoyed. The Wedding Singer remains somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine and 50 First Dates isn't the absolute worst rom-com you could watch.

This new project will be directed by the man behind Zookeeper from a script by Ivan Menchell and Clare Sera. It doesn't have a name yet but what we do know is that it centres on a couple who meet on the worst possible blind date only to find themselves holed up at a family resort with their respective children in tow.

Hmm, is this the kind of stuff that'll pull Sandler out of his rut? Not likely.
