Shazam himself has offered us an update on the status of the sequel to his 2019 superhero movie.
'Shazam! 2' has an official title now - 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods'.
And there are plans to start production on the follow-up soon.
Zachary Levi, who plays the titular hero, has said that filming for the movie begins in the first quarter of 2021.
He added that movie studios New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. have to "get to it" soon because the sequel's young stars are "growing fast."
The superhero movie follows a fostered teenager who acquires special powers that allow him to turn into an adult superhero.
His foster siblings also play prominent roles in the movie and eventually gain their own alter identities.
An unofficial teaser poster for the sequel was shared during the recent DC Fandome event.
Levi said (via comicbook.com): "They announced that we were gonna do a sequel pretty much right after we premiered. They knew we were tracking well enough, they were happy enough with the numbers.
"So they have been steadily and earnestly working on the script for the sequel and I think Q1 of next year is the idea."
"COVID has kind of made everything a little bit up in the air, but very much the intent is to make another one," he added. "We gotta get to it fast, the kids are growing fast."
The movie got pushed from April to November 2022.
The star of the movie felt optimistic about the change of date, saying: "I'm actually quite grateful — I think a November release is a better calendar [spot].
"Hopefully, we can kind of float and keep it going into the [Christmas] holidays. 'Aquaman' had that right-before-Christmas release and [grossed] a billion-plus dollars."
