Shane Black is one of the highest paid writers in the history of Hollywood, and frankly the guy is worth every penny. After The Long Kiss Goodnight he took a long break and came back in 2006 with the absolutely brilliant Kiss Kiss Bang Bang; before once again, disappearing. But with the recent news that he's handed in a draft for a Lethal Weapon 5, it's also been announced that Black will direct a script from writer Chuck Mondry entitled Cold Warrior. The film see's a retired cold war spy reteam with a go-getting youngster as things with Russia are about to kick off, again. Black's scripts read like a retired detective telling you a story while sipping Glenfiddich at a bar; and he showed stunning assurance for a first time helmer with 'Kiss Kiss', so needless to say this is great news. No word on a 'Lethal' sequel, but it's said to be the best script of the bunch by a mile.
