Despite being one of the most entertaining films so far this year, Shane Black's The Nice Guys didn't do huge business at the box-office. The aside to that is he has a couple of would-be blockbusters lined up anyway, with The Rock confirmed to be joining a possible new franchise in Doc Savage and now the film he'll make before that, Predator, could have its star.
Rumours are that Oscar-nominated actor James Franco is in discussions for the lead role in what's being described as somewhere between a reboot and a sequel. Black is directing the film he co-wrote with Fred Dekker - the man behind the awesome Monster Squad.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is also rumoured to be taking a part in some capacity, which would see the sequel aspect make more sense.
Black penned Lethal Weapon and made his directorial debut with the sublime Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. He also directed Iron Man 3 to a franchise best box-office.
