Luc Besson has been accused of sexual assault by a second woman, following on from allegations levelled against the French director some months ago.
AFP reports that an unnamed casting director has claimed Besson sexually assaulted her and demanded sexual favours of her on set. According to French investigative outlet Mediapart, the casting director has also sent her allegations to authorities, however prosecutors said on Tuesday that they have yet to receive fresh complaints against Besson.
For his part, Luc Besson has denied both accusations, saying he "categorically denies any type of inappropriate or reprehensible behavior," and that he "is reserving his answers for the investigators so that his innocence can be shown." Besson is one of France's most recognisable directors and is the head of French studio EuropaCorp. The studio was behind the Scarlett Johansson-starring 'Lucy' and, most recently, 'Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets', which starred Cara Delevigne and Dane DeHaan.
Besson is by far the most well-known figure in the European film industry to be accused of sexual assault in the wake of the #MeToo Movement, however no charges so far have been brought forward against the director as the investigation is still underway.
