Scarlett Johansson will pick up a paycheque of $15 million for her work on the upcoming 'Black Widow' standalone movie, according to a report in THR.
The actor - who has played Black Widow / Natasha Romanoff since 'Iron Man 2' - will have pay parity with Chris Hemsworth on 'Thor: Ragnarok' and Chris Evans on 'Captain America: Civil War', as well as the fourth 'Avengers' movie. Johansson has been angling for a standalone 'Black Widow' movie almost as soon as she signed on for the role, and after eight years, it's finally becoming a reality.
'Black Widow' won't be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe to have a singular female lead, as 'Captain Marvel' will arrive in cinemas in March 2019 whilst 'Black Widow' won't arrive until 2020 at the earliest. Given how much is set to change with the completion and release of the fourth 'Avengers' movie and how the cast is likely to be thinned out, it's only right that Black Widow gets her own standalone movie.
Of course, we've already got an idea what that movie will look like - because there was an 'SNL' sketch about it last year.
