One of our proudest exports - aside from Guinness and U2 of course - has to be the wonder that is Saoirse Ronan. An actress of the highest calibre, Saoirse has deservedly joined rank with some of the finest talent in Hollywood, so it's no surprise to see her team up with the likes of Wes Anderson (Fantastic Mr Fox, Rushmore etc). The Grand Budapest Hotel boasts a stellar lineup, among which the amazing Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law, Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman (both of whom have worked with Anderson before) are included.
There aren't too many details floating about yet, but what we do know is that it's going to be a period drama, so nothing like The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel film then (speaking of movies that have hotel names in their title.) Apparently, the film will centre on the hotel's concierge around the time of the early 20th century. Wes Anderson has both written and will direct this movie.
As for Ronan's role in the movie? We'll have to wait and see. Next up for the young Atonement actress is Byzantium, a vampire flick directed by Neil Jordan who I randomly saw having lunch in a cafe the other day. Small world, eh?
