The cast of 'Red Notice' just gained another big star, but that's not the only change to the forthcoming action movie.
The Dwayne Johnson-led film had previously been in the works at Universal, but has now been taken over by Netflix. It's believed that following a bidding war for the film's pitch last year, Netflix were beaten to the punch. However, when negotiations at Universal stalled last week, the streaming titans swooped in.
Johnson will play an Interpol agent on the hunt for a notorious art thief. 'Wonder Woman' Gal Gadot had previously been announced for the film, which sees Johnson once again teaming up with 'Skyscraper' and 'Central Intelligence' writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber. The actor is expected to earn a whopping $20 million for the film.
It's not yet known what role Reynolds will play, but the chances of him being that aforementioned art thief are pretty high.
The film won't start shooting until early 2020 and had been initially scheduled for a November 2020 release under Universal. Now that Netflix are on board, that may have changed. Watch this space.
