A new biopic based on Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn is in the works.
Rooney Mara has been cast in the role of the 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' star.
Audrey Hepburn's many movie classics include 'My Fair Lady', 'Roman Holiday', 'Charade', 'Sabrina', 'Funny Face', and 'Charade'.
Hepburn was a dedicated humanitarian. She achieved EGOT status, having won an Emmy, Oscar, Tony and Grammy award, posthumously.
Last year, there was a documentary based on the actress titled 'Audrey'.
Luca Guadagnino ('Call Me By Your Name', 'Suspiria') will helm the feature.
Michael Mitnick ('The Giver', 'The Current War') is penning the script.
Rooney Mara is a producer on the project as well as playing the lead.
The actress is a two-time Oscar nominee for her roles in 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' and 'Carol'.
She has also starred in 'Mary Magdalene', 'Lion', 'The Secret Scripture', 'Her', and 'The Social Network'.
Puck broke the news about the Apple biopic.
It follows in the news from earlier this week that Chris Evans will be stepping in the shoes of another star of classical Hollywood: Gene Kelly.
Rooney Mara next stars in 'Nightmare Alley', which hits Irish cinemas on January 21st.
