Robert Pattinson is continuing to impress with his movie choices, as the British heartthrob picks yet another unconventional production that probably wouldn’t have gotten funding if it wasn't for his star presence.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pattinson will star in The Rover, the second feature by Animal Kingdom director David Michod that co-stars Guy Pearce; the film will be fully funded by Screen Australia. The film is set in "the Australian desert, the futuristic western tells the story of Eric, who has left everything, everyone and every semblance of human kindness behind him, as he’s forced to join an injured gang member, Rey, to hunt down Rey’s gang after they steal the last of Eric’s possessions." This is a strong role for the Twilight star, who is really putting the tween franchise behind him of late - sure Bel Ami was shite, but Water for Elephants was more than solid.
Animal Kingdom went down extremely well with critics and audiences that found the superb Australian drama. Good to see helmer Michod is staying in his home country and bringing the stars to him.
