Robert Downey Jnr, who *ahem* I'm meeting this week, has just revealed that he has been paid a staggering 50 MILLION Dollars for his appearance in The Avengers. Naturally, question no.1 will be 'eh, giz a lend of a few quid'.
Asked by GQ if the rumours were true and the figure was accurate (it was The Hollywood Reporter who raised the subject), Downey Jnr responded: "Yeah. Isn't that crazy? They're so pissed, I can't believe it. I'm what's known as 'a strategic cost'."
Well we guess it's not surprising considering The Avengers is the third grossing movie of ALL TIME, raking in over 1.5 BILLION Dollars worldwide. Marvel clearly have money to burn. Guess Dr Evil was way off when he was demanding 1 Million Dollars for holding the world hostage.
Iron Man 3 sees RDJ return to his titular role as Tony Stark. The movie hits cinemas on April 26th.
