In case you missed it, a musical biopic based on the life of Robbie Williams is in the works.
Robbie Williams is said to be quite involved with the project. He and the upcoming film's director Michael Gracey, who previously directed the hit Hugh Jackman musical 'The Greatest Showman', spent hours together in the singer's recording studio hashing out the script.
Gracey has described the film as a "fantastical story". He said that the way Williams is being represented in the film is "top secret."
But now it seems the cat is out of the bag after a report from Deadline about the European Film Market. It is there that the project is being shopped.
Titled 'Better Man', the movie "will chronicle Williams’ ascent, exploring the experiences that made him who he is, and the demons he battled both on and off the stage as he became a huge star on the back of hits like 'Angels'."
Deadline adds: "We understand that pop star Williams will be portrayed by a CGI monkey in the film. “It’s bananas,” one buyer wise-cracked."
It's a head-scratcher, alright.
The movie follows such recent musical biopic successes as 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and 'Rocketman'.
Production for 'Every Man' commences this summer.
