A collaboration between UK animation studio Aniventure and River Productions have announced their newest animated feature film, which is going to be following an extinct Irish animal as he Riverdances his way across Ireland - we're just guessing at the plot here but we don't think we're too far off, considering the impressive casting list for the movie.
Pierce Brosnan, Brendan Gleeson, Aisling Bea, Pauline McLynn, John Kavanagh, Lilly Singh, and stand-up comic Jermaine Fowler have all been announced as lending their voices to the Riverdance animation, with rising stars Sam Hardy and Hannah Herman Cortes also among the cast list. The Hollywood Reporter has received word that Gleeson and Kavanagh will be voicing the villains of the movie, while Brosnan will voice the role of King of the Megaloceros Giganteus.
Releasing a brief clip below, we are introduced to Patrick, the Megaloceros Giganteus (the extinct Irish Elk), as he shows off his impressive Irish dance moves. Set to be an animated musical comedy, the feature will also have Bill Whelan’s multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning music shown to a generation of people who might never have seen the likes of it before.
Now, we're all up for a Riverdance movie - and it's an animated one at that, with a cracking lineup of voices, so it's bound to be funny. But did they really have to be so obvious, and call it 'Riverdance: The Animated Adventure'? Well, we guess it worked for 'Snakes On A Plane', and 'Toy Story', right?

No release date has been set for the Riverdance animation yet, but 2021 is a safe bet for this one.
