As Disney's D23 Expo ends, the footage shown at the event is now beginning to make its way online - but only one teaser has been offline, until now.
'The Rise of Skywalker' panel at D23 this weekend showcased a new teaser that's been kept off the internet until today, and shows off brand-new footage from the upcoming blockbuster. You've got Rey, Finn and Poe landing on some kind of desert planet (probably Tatooine, but we've been wrong before), the epic lightsaber battle between Rey and Kylo Ren on top of a submerging Star Destroyer, the Emperor seemingly back from the dead, and right at the end, is Dark Rey.
Our guess? Dark Rey is a vision, not unlike 'The Empire Strikes Back' when Luke Skywalker faced Darth Vader in the cave on Dagobah. It might just be that Rey actually goes to Dagobah and meets Luke Skywalker, much the same way he met Obi-Wan Kenobi there as a shimmering Force ghost. In fact, if you go back and look at the background for Dark Rey, the vines and the archway looks very similar to the.... yes, we're actually looking in that close detail.
Anyway, 'The Rise of Skywalker' arrives in Irish cinemas on December 18th of this year and we'll probably have loads more to report on before then, not to mention a review of the movie itself.
