Just days after announcing that he was to direct an Alien prequel, Blade Runner director Ridley Scott is set to take charge of an adaptation of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, a highly revered piece of dystopian literature. The project is in the works at Universal with Scott set to produce (and probably direct). Leonardo Di Caprio will co-produce (and probably act). Farhad Safinia (Apocalypto) has been hired to pen the script. This news doesn't come as much of a surprise as rumours of a film adapation of Huxley's book have been rampant for years now. Ridley Scott seems like the perfect choice to direct, too. The murky, paranoid style that he displayed in the likes of Alien and Blade Runner seems like a perfect fit to tackle Huxley's vision of a futuristic society.
