If you haven't already seen some of the footage from North Bergen High's stage production of 'Alien', you really are missing out.

The high school students managed to make recreate key moments from the 1979 sci-fi horror, including the face-hugger scene, the alien queen, and - yes - even the chest-bursting scene with John Hurt. The high school students of North Bergen's drama club did it all, including building the set and adapting the script into a play format.

As you can imagine, the footage and photos from the play's opening night quickly went viral and eventually caught the attention of Sigourney Weaver, and then director Ridley Scott. In a video, Weaver praised the students' production. "It looked incredible,” she said. “The alien, I must say, looked very real to me. I just wanted to send our compliments. Not only from me but from James Cameron and the original screenwriter, Walter Hill. We all want to say bravo. Well done."

Ridley Scott, meanwhile, has offered to sponsor the cost of an encore production of the play and in a letter sent to the drama club, gave them some advice. "This is maybe the biggest lesson for ALL OF YOU, and your future plans,” he wrote. “Stay with this determination, and this spirit in everything you do and you will succeed — let nothing put you off — or set you back.”

Not only that, Ridley Scott suggested they try and do 'Gladiator' for their next production. The swords and sandals, sure, that's easy to do. But the tiger jumping out of the middle of the arena? Or the opening sequence in Germania? Yeah, that's going to be tough.
