Yes, that's the figure that Ridley Scott is quoting. Six more Alien films.
In an interview with Sydney Morning Herald, Scott was asked about the future of the franchise and boldly stated that he "going to close it down again," the 'it' being the Alien franchise. "If you really want a franchise, I can keep cranking it for another six."
Not only that, Scott is quite serious about it. Later in the same interview, Scott explained that he's already prepping for the sequel for Alien: Covenant. "You’ve got to assume to a certain extent success and from that you’d better be ready. You don’t want a two-year gap. So I’ll be ready to go again next year," Scott said.
Of course, it's quite likely that Scott simply has the opening sketches of a screenplay, but it still does point to the fact that Scott is now doubling down on Alien in a way he hasn't before.
That said, while six additional Alien films is most likely hyperbole on Scott's part, it's clear that Fox are keen to revive the franchise and get it out there again. After the critical misfire that was Prometheus, it's going to be interesting to see how the future of Alien pans out.
