Ryan Reynolds has spoken about his increasingly busy schedule, and the film most likely to suffer, according to i09.com, by way of Dark Horizons.
The actor will next star in The Change Up opposite Jason Bateman and (former Gaiety School of Acting student) Olivia Wilde, which he describes as an R rated comedy, and then it's off to The Safe House with Denzel Washington. So what of Deadpool and R.I.P.D.? "They're both movies I'm interested in," he told the site "they're both movies that are in fast-track development. But I never say I'm doing a movie until I break for lunch the first day. Because it's such a crapshoot, this industry. Everything's so fickle and so contingent on so many factors, aside from just an actor. And because it has an actor, and because these films have interested directors, it's obviously likely that they'll both get made. But I think it would be more likely that only one of them gets made with me."
Deadpool's "interested director" is one Robert Rodriguez, and I'd love to see him tackle another comic book adaptation - especially one so darkly funny that has Reynolds written all over it. R.I.P.D sounds a bit contrived, and Robert Schwentke isn't in the same league as Rodriguez, so if the stars aligned I'd much prefer to see a Deadpool movie with the actor. His latest movie, Buried, is out next week, and is easily the best performance of the year, from any actor.
