Monty Python alumnus and acclaimed director Terry Gilliam is, in fact, alive and well - despite an erroneous report from a leading trade publication.
Variety published a pre-written obituary on Terry Gilliam's death which was then quickly deleted and the article removed from the site.
CORRECTION: Variety incorrectly published an article stating that director Terry Gilliam passed away. We're deeply sorry for the mistake.

However, in just a few short minutes, Twitter was all over the news before Variety published an official apology.
Now Terry Gilliam has witnessed his own death, just like Bruce Willis in 12 MONKEYS.

Rest in Peace, Terry Gilliam. You know, when you go to bed tonight. Because you're not dead and I'm sure it was stressful hearing you were.

I suppose if anyone's going to find this funny, it's Terry Gilliam.

Gilliam is due to turn 75 in the next few weeks, so we're hoping for 75 more years of the man's genius.
