Ray Winstone has apparently joined the remake of the cheese-fest action classic, Point Break, say Empire Magazine.
Some young fellow called Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) has already been cast in the Keanu Reeves role of Johnny Utah, while cinematographer turner helmer, Ericson Core is directing the flick.
Winstone will play Utah’s partner in a role made famous by broken biscuits himself, Gary Busey. The new film will apparently be very different, with more of a focus on extreme sports than surfing - although a surfboard will make an appearance at some point. Woah etc.
The role of Bodhi, that was played by the late Patrick Swayze in the 1991 flick, will now go rustic, hairy and Celtic as Gerard Butler takes on the part.
Second unit filming (of people jumping off of shit, we assume) has already begun, with principal photography beginning July.
