Quentin Tarantino is the latest person to give his opinion on the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman. Affleck need not worry too much though, as Tarantino seems to have a problem more so with the character then Affleck himself.
When asked about the recent casting Tarantino said, 'I have to admit that I don't really have an opinion. Why? Because Batman is not a very interesting character. For any actor. There is simply not much to play.' He added, 'I think Michael Keaton did it the best, and I wish good luck to Ben Affleck. But, you know who would have made a great Batman? Alec Baldwin in the '80s'. So should Affleck be looking towards these actors for inspiration for the upcoming role.
Tarantino isn't the only celeb who spoke out about Ben's appointment to the role of Batman, His pal Matt Damon - who might be a little biased - had this to say, 'I think it will be great. It will be terrific. I know there are a lot of people grousing on the internet. I just think it's kind of funny. You know, he's not playing King Lear. It's Batman! If anybody saw 'Argo' or 'The Town,' and all the work he's been doing lately, it's way more nuanced and interesting and way more difficult than Batman! Batman just sits there with his cowl over his head and whispers in a kinda gruff voice at people. Bruce Wayne is the more challenging part of the role, and Ben will be great at that.'
Many fans are none to pleased with Affleck as Batman with an online petition collecting over 90,000 signatures to remove him from the role. A bit harsh. Filming begins on the movie in early 2014 . Henry Cavill will be returning as Superman alongside Amy Adams who returns as Lois Lane. But it looks like Affleck is here to stay with the film due to be released on the 17 July 2015.
