We got to sit down with the talented director and ask him about his worries of following up an Oscar contender, his working relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal, what it was like collaborating with cinematography genius Roger Deakins, and the fears of making a movie that may be too dark to appeal to a mass audience, among other things.
