Pierce Brosnan has signed up to star in DC movie 'Black Adam', in which Dwayne Johnson plays the titular superhero. THR broke the news.
The role Pierce Brosnan will play in the movie has also been revealed.
The 'Die Another Day' star will play Dr. Fate in the action movie.
Also known as Kent Nelson, Dr. Fate is one of the good guys.
Created by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman, the character first appeared in DC Comics back in 1940.
He is the son of an archaeologist who was taught sorcery skills and given the magical Helmet of Fate.
The role marks Brosnan's superhero movie debut.
Also in the 'Black Adam' cast are Aldis Hodge, who plays Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Marwan Kenzari ('Aladdin', 'The Old Guard') in an undisclosed role.
Plot details are being kept under wraps.
'Black Adam' marks the second feature produced by DC and New Line following the hit Zachary Levi movie 'Shazam!'
Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Johnson opposite Emily Blunt in Disney’s upcoming 'Jungle Cruise', is helming 'Black Adam'.
Cameras are set to start rolling on the movie this April in Atlanta.
