Pierce Brosnan and Helena Bonham Carter will make an unlikely pair in a new romantic comedy.
The film is titled 'Not Bloody Likely'. It tells the true story of a 1914 production of George Bernard Shaw’s 'Pygmalion', the play that would eventually inspire the award-winning musical 'My Fair Lady.'
Joel Hopkins ('Last Chance Harvey', 'Hampstead') directs. He and Pierce Brosnan previously collaborated on 'The Love Punch.'
The Irish actor will play Shaw in the new movie as he tries to convince actress Pat Campbell (Bonham Carter) to play the role of Eliza Doolittle.
However he also intends to rekindle their past romance.
We see the events through the eyes of a young producing assistant who has the job of finding a “real” Flower Girl to help Campbell become Eliza.
'Not Bloody Likely' is currently being sold at the American Film Market.
Producers Adam Rolston and David Braithwaite said: "This is exactly the kind of film the world needs right now.
"A feel-good story that will make you laugh and make you cry for the right reasons."
Pierce Brosnan recently starred in 'Eurovision Song Contest' and next stars in 'Cinderella' with Camilla Cabello.
Helena Bonham Carter next stars in 'The Crown' season 4 on Netflix.
