It’ll be tough to beat Julie Andrews’ portrayal of the iconic nanny, but if anyone is going to come close, it’s Emily Blunt.
Plus if this first look at the Sicario actress in the role is anything to go by, she’ll be practically perfect in every way.
Walt Disney Pictures released the first look photo via EW and it portrays Blunt dressed beautifully for the part:
As well as Emily Blunt, the star-studded cast for Mary Poppins Returns also includes Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meryl Streep, Emily Mortimer, Colin Firth, Ben Whishaw, Angela Lansbury, Dick Van Dyke and Julie Walters.
Set in 1930s London, the film sees Poppins return to three new Banks children after a now grown-up Michael (Whishaw) suffers a personal loss. She and optimistic street lighter Jack (Miranda) will bring joy and wonder back into the family's lives.
