A clip from 'Aladdin' launched online this week.
The upcoming Disney feature is a live action remake of the 1992 animated movie 'Aladdin.'
The new film sees Will Smith in the role of Genie with Mena Massoud in the title role. Naomi Scott plays Jasmine with Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen co-starring.
Guy Ritchie directs from a script co-written by him and John August. Ritchie previously helmed such films as 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels', 'Snatch', 'Rocknrolla' and 'Sherlock Holmes'.
We got the first full trailer for the flick a couple of months ago.
Now a clip showing Will Smith performing its beloved song 'Prince Ali' is live.
It's only about a minute long and you can watch it here.
Needless to say Twitter has had things to say - some are enthusiastic while others are less so.

I like Will Smith, and have fond childhood memories of Aladdin, but this just doesn't work. https://t.co/osBrcjc1lQ

Why...why is the new version of Prince Ali so slow. What is with Jasmine's friend. Have they awkwardly auto-tuned Will Smith?
I have so many questions, and all of them will be answered when I drag a friend with me to see Aladdin. https://t.co/QtWwz9KkCw— Ben M-J (@V_Ben) May 14, 2019

I don’t know why people are complaining so much. This doesn’t look THAT bad and it could be a lot worse. What people forget is these remakes aren’t supposed to mirror their predecessor to a tee, but rather build off the foundation set by the original to make something new.
