It had all the hallmarks of one of those ridiculous 'Yes, 50,000 people will attend a 'Movies on the Beach' night in Dublin with no prior organisation or planning permission whatsoever' sort of scenarios.

As we reported the other day, 4.5k people (at time of writing) said they'd meet up at the Spire in Dublin at 6pm tonight if Leonardo DiCaprio won the Oscar for Best Actor. That number had climbed to over 9,000 by today.

Unless you're living under a stone for the past day, you'll be aware that Leo did, in fact, win last night.

Well, you might be surprised to hear that 9,000 people didn't flood O'Connell Street this evening in honour of the actor - but a hardy bunch of about... hmmm, we're saying 10, judging by the below picture... did.

Fair play to yis. Also, have yis nothing else to be doing?
