After the tragic death of Paul Walker, it looked quite possible that Fast Seven, the latest entry to the Fast & Furious franchise, was going to be shelved. Walker, one of the leading cast members, died in a car-crash in November of last year in Los Angeles. However, the producers of the long-running series have come up with a solution that, they hope, will satisfy fans and give Walker's character a fitting send-off.

According to sources close to the production, it's been revealed that four actors with a similar body-shape to Walker's have been hired and CGI will be used on top of Walker's face and voice. Undoubtedly, the script itself would have to have been extensively rewritten in order to facilitate the tragic event.

This isn't the first time a film production's lost an actor mid-filming. Veteran actor Oliver Reed died towards the end of filming for Ridley Scott's Gladiator. Reed's scenes were digitally altered in order to make into the finished film. Likewise, Brandon Lee - son of Bruce Lee - died during the production of The Crow after he was shot with a real bullet on set. A stunt double was used to finish out his remaining scenes.
