Although it's impossible for the Academy to include everyone who's passed away in the past twelve months, there were a number of omissions from last night's In Memoriam segment that didn't go unnoticed.
Tobe Hooper, who directed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - easily one of the most influential horror films ever made - was decidedly absent, as was veteran actor John Mahoney, best known for his film role in Say Anything..., Barton Fink, Moonstruck and (of course) Fraiser, was left out of the segment.
The most noted absence on Twitter, however, was Adam West. Although he was best known for his role as Batman and his voice-acting, West was also a star of sci-fi B-movie Robinson Crusoe On Mars, and starred alongside The Three Stooges in their final film together, The Outlaws Are Coming.
Meanwhile, Della Reese and Dorothy Malone were both absent from the segment, as was Miguel Ferrer, best known for his roles in Robocop, Twin Peaks and many others.
Here's the segment as it aired on the night.
