It's no secret that Alec Guinness didn't really have the best of times while filming the original Star Wars. We've previously covered the extent of it here.
However it's always fun to unearth new quotes from Guinness about his experiences. Oscar Isaac was invited to take part in a Letters Live reading over the weekend and read out a letter Guinness wrote to Anna Kaufman during the filming of A New Hope.
Up next we're lucky enough to be joined once more by... Oscar Isaac to read
'New rubbish dialogue'

"Can't say I'm enjoying the film," Guinness wrote. "New rubbish dialogue reaches me every other day on wadges of pink paper, and none of it makes my character clear or even bearable."
Ouch. Guinness wasn't the only member of the original cast to criticise the dialogue with Harrison Ford famously quipping 'George, you can type this shit, but you can't say it!" Although Lucas would have the last laugh as he was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars for that 'shit'.
Despite sharing a mutual disdain for the dialogue, it seems Guinness and Ford weren't able to bond over it. Guinness describes Ford as 'a rangy, languid man' in his letter though he does concede that he's 'probably intelligent and amusing.'
Here's the letter in full:
