Oh hell no, Orlando Bloom in a Batman movie? He's too pretty, far too pretty. We can just about handle him as Legolas in The Hobbit (or LOTR, previously), but that's because he played an elf for which his pleasing aesthetic lends itself nicely. But BATMAN? Bruce Wayne, the dark brooding orphan who grew up to become a crime-fighting bad-ass? Um, nein.
According to The Daily Express, the actor who set our hearts aflutter in Pirates of the Carribean is one of the hot favourites to play The Caped Crusader in the forthcoming Superman Vs Batman, opposite Henry Cavill.
If he wants to hold his own opposite the machine that is Mr Cavill (I touched him, in real life, it's NOT a muscle suit), he'd want to seriously start chowing down on some raw eggs and steak with a side of creatine, like yesterday.
Apparently, a source at Warner Bros confirmed: "Orlando looks odds-on to get the part even before our first casting call... He would be perfect to play off Henry and I think US audiences would be happy with two Brits as the joint male leads."
Will Christian Bale be content to see his career defining role be taken over by Bloom? Would you take Bloom seriously as Batman?
