Directed by Jill Culton of 'Open Season' and featuring a voice cast that includes Sarah Paulson and Eddie Izzard, 'Abominable' is taking the myth of the Yeti and giving it a 2019 twist that looks like it'll be interesting for kids and adults.
Okay, so maybe we're basing the adult part solely on the trailer using 'Go Your Own Way' as the music bed but we're of the opinion that Fleetwood Mac can only make things better so 'Abominable' is already off to a good start.
Here's the official synopsis:
"When teenage Yi (Chloe Bennet, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) encounters a young Yeti on the roof of her apartment building in Shanghai, she and her mischievous friends, Jin (Tenzing Norgay Trainor) and Peng (Albert Tsai), name him “Everest” and embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth.
But the trio of friends will have to stay one-step ahead of Burnish (Eddie Izzard), a wealthy man intent on capturing a Yeti, and zoologist Dr. Zara (Sarah Paulson) to help Everest get home."
So it's your average kids coming to the rescue of a mythical creature tale we've seen plenty of times before but something feels a bit exciting and new about this one. Plus, Fleetwood Mac, so count us in.
'Abominable' is set to arrive in Irish cinemas on October 11th.
