'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' is the follow-up to Gareth Evans' 2014's 'Godzilla' and sees Godzilla in a fatal-fourway match with, Rodan King Ghidorrah and Mothra.
Do any of those names mean anything to you? Well unless you're a big fan of Japanese kaiju movies from the '50s and '60s, it won't. Essentially, the four monsters are called 'Titans', who have been buried underneath icefor thousands of years and are now being thawed out and brought back to life. Why? Our guess is something to do with ecological pollution and climate change.
After all, there's a big scene in this new trailer that shows an ocean of plastic filling up, and then giant monsters rising out for vengeance. It makes a lot of sense, but not just because the original 'Godzilla' from 1954 was an allegory for Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
At any rate, 'Stranger Things' alum Millie Bobby Brown is front and centre, as she plays a young woman who has a strange connection to one of the monsters through to her mother, Vera Farmiga. You've also got Thomas Middleditch in there and Ken Watanabe back from the first one, along with Sally Hawkins. Meanwhile, Charles Dance glowers in the background, and there's also Coach Taylor himself - Kyle Chandler - in there as well.
'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' lands in Irish cinemas in May 2019.
