It is, in his own words, 'the best work I've ever had the privilege to preside over' - so it goes without saying that hopes are high for Francis Ford Coppola's forthcoming film.

The director of 'The Godfather' and 'Apocalypse Now' has unveiled the first teaser trailer for 'Megalopolis', a film which he first began developing in 1977.

It follows on from the recent first-look trailer that tells the story of a decaying city in a reimagined America, and the two factions vying for control of it: idealist architect Cesar Caitilina (Adam Driver) who wants to redesign it as a modern utopia, and corrupt Mayor Frankyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who wishes it to remain as is.

The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Dustin Hoffman, Shia LaBeouf and Nathalie Emmanuel.

'Megalopolis' is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this Thursday, May 16th, where it will compete for the Palme D'Or.
