Ryan Reynolds (shwing) and Jeff Bridges' new film R.I.P.D has released a brand new featurette before the upcoming film's debut scheduled for 30th August in the UK and Ireland. In R.I.P.D., Reynolds plays he lead role of a cop killed in the line of duty, who then finds himself in the afterlife. In this new post mortem arena he is assigned the familiar role of a cop by the Rest In Peace department.
Partnered with a veteran officer, Roy Pulsifer (Bridges), he is confronted with a major obstacle when the dead threaten to overtake the living population. Based on a dark horse comic series, the film also stars Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker, Stephanie Szostak, Robert Knepper, James Hong, Marisa Miller, Mike O'Malley and Devin Ratray.
The video shows film footage alongside footage of the two main actors Reynolds and Bridges talking about the film and their characters in particular. The zippy clips from the adaptation highlight the dark humour of the promising blockbuster. Bridges is a 200 year old cowboy cop with an attitude that is probably only a bit sassier than his real self. The two have difficulties clicking together as partners but must eventually learn the balance of their new roles in the afterlife. They are 'deado; dead and don't wanna be', as Bridges explains it. This is one apocalypse film we can't wait to laugh at.
