That sound you hear is the brains of American Marvel fans exploding with rage and Irish ones with joy.
In what feels like a world first, UK and Irish cinema audiences will get to see the film before their American counterparts, with the film now set to open in cinemas here on Thursday April 23rd instead of the previously announced worldwide release on May 1st. One suspects that the thoughts of the worldwide press bonanza that would be involved in that caused too much chaos and then new date will allow for the actors involved to do all the necessary work and appearances on both sides of the pond before the film's release.

A closer look at the poster reveals a few new factoids that have Marvel fans around the world freaking out, the main one being the addition of a yellow-caped figure blocking out the sun who we won't name for spoilerific reasons but confirms what many fans expected from the film for a long time.
Other things that fans have picked up on from the fine print include the billing of Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, Anthony Mackie, and Stellan Skarsgård, who had previously been unconfirmed to be involved but now we can at least expect a cameo appearance from them following their work in the Marvel franchise already.
And in a stretch of a connection but a still completely plausible one, TheMarySue.com pointed out that Spider-Man composer Danny Elfman is billed as having provided 'additional material' on the new poster. They, like us, advise you to 'make of that what you will'.
All in all, it's a good day to be an Avengers fan.
