Did you like Furious 7? Congratulations, you're getting three more films whether you liked it or not.

Vin Diesel took to Instagram a few hours ago and confirmed the long-held rumour that Fast & Furious isn't slowing down. Yes, we went there. Everyone's favourite former Street Sharks salesman (Google it) confirmed that Fast & Furious 8, 9 and TEN are all planned and have scheduled release dates.

Furious 8 is scheduled for a 2017 release date whilst 9 and 10 are planned for 2019 and 2021 respectively. As to what's going on with any of them is anybody's guess, but it's clear that Universal are planning on keeping Fast & Furious going for long past the tenth instalment and are trying to establish it as a Forever Franchise.

What's that, you ask? Simple. James Bond? Forever Franchise. Batman? Forever Franchise. Any intellectual property that has longevity beyond its current status. Batman was rebooted several times, James Bond the same and so to as has Fast & Furious. What began as a silly street-racing movie has now evolved to become Heat juiced-up on steroids. For the most part, it's worked well. Furious 7 made a healthy profit at the box-office and handled Paul Walker's unfortunate passing well.

Many felt, ourselves included, that Furious 7 would have been the right note to leave the franchise on - possibly with a view to rebooting a few years down the line. That may still happen, of course, but Diesel still is keeping the show going for the minute. Meanwhile, xXx 3: The Return of Xander Cage is still rolling with Diesel posting Instagram updates from the set.

Our own Conor McGregor is confirmed to star alongside Jet Li, Samuel L. Jackson and Nina Dobrev with a 2017 release scheduled for that as well.
